The knock from the Heart to the Heart,
Heart to Heart I.M. (IM is the abbreviation for Jesus and Mary from the Latin words Iseus-Maria) for more than 14 years, with the desire to contribute somewhat in the field of helping spirits to know, come and be intimately united with God through ones’ vocation, at the call of Jesus Christ. Now, Heart to Heart I.M. has a first facility, located in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Louisiana. This facility has been abandoned for a long time since Hurricane Katrina until now. In 2020, Holy Family Trust allowed Heart to Heart I.M. to lease and operation free of charge in the next 100 years with the option to renew the lease with the agreement that Heart to Heart I.M. will incur all repairs, property taxes, and expenses. Due to the severe damages from multiple hurricanes, Heart to Heart I.M. needs initial funds of $30,000 to fix the roof and clean up.
This facility is the old church called St. Peter (St. Petro), built on very solid reinforced concrete. The recent Hurricane Ida caused damage to this church’s facilities, such as the roof, front and side windows, and around the church. Existing costs for repairs can range from $250,000.00 to $300,000.00. Because it has not been repaired and just bought, there is no insurance and help from FEMA, as they give priority to places that already live or work. Because of necessity, Heart to Heart I.M. used Home Depot’s credit line to purchase roof repair materials, cost over $20,000.00 for materials, paid $5,000.00, remaining $15,000.00, and to pay off within 24 months interest-free.
Currently, the need is to redo the water and electricity system, because it has been unused for a long time, and without electricity and water, the repair is also very difficult and inconvenient. Necessary costs for the utility system can range from $25,000.00 to $30,000.00. The front and side windows are approximately $15,000.00 to $20,000.00. Rebuild homes for residents and guests approximately $200,000.00 to $250,000.00.
